CREEDE, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say the South Fork police chief was found dead in his home in Creede in southwest Colorado.

An autopsy for 50-year-old Robert Harris was performed Saturday and the Mineral County Sheriff's says the death is still under investigation. The autopsy was performed in El Paso County.

Harris was found dead Thursday night but it wasn't immediately known who discovered his body. He was recently named chief of police for South Fork, about 20 miles from where he lived.
