35 Colorado Powerball tickets win $300 each

Associated Press - August 31, 2009 9:04 AM ET

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Wednesday's Powerball jackpot is expected to be worth an estimated $45 million since no one matched all 6 of the numbers drawn over the weekend.

Saturday's winning numbers were 1-20-37-52-53. The Powerball was 33 and the multiplier was 3.

Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $34.5 million jackpot.

Two Power Play tickets sold in North Carolina and Pennsylvania matched the first five numbers only to win $1 million.

Colorado's top prize was $300 for 35 Power Play tickets that matched other number combinations.

Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.

It's now played in 30 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
