NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) - Norfolk police have arrested a man suspected of a beating death in Colorado.
Jayson Oslund was being held Thursday in the Madison County jail awaiting extradition to Pueblo, Colo., on a first-degree murder charge. The 28-year-old was arrested Wednesday morning on a tip to a Crime Stoppers hot line.
Oslund is accused of beating 18-year-old Matt Maez on Sept. 5. Maez died more that a week later of head trauma.
A message left at the jail office was not immediately returned. Norfolk police Capt. Leon Chapman says he wasn't sure whether Oslund had a connection to the Norfolk area.
A call to the Pueblo city attorney's office rang unanswered on Thursday morning.
