COLORADO SPRINGS - A 19-year-old woman is in critical but stable condition after she was thrown from her car on Southbound Union and Purgatory Drive just after 1:15 a.m. Friday morning.
Police say upon her recovery, she will be charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Careless Driving.
A witness told police a Silver Chevrolet Trailblazer going northbound in the area lost control, crossed over the center median, and rolled.
The driver, 19-year-old Joylisha McCall, was thrown from the vehicle during the accident. She was transported to Penrose Hospital and sustained critical injuries -- she was not wearing a safety belt at the time of this crash.
The vehicle collided with two parked and unoccupied La Petite Academy school vehicles, causing moderate damage to both.
