COLORADO SPRINGS - Lieutenant Colonel Brian Tribus from West Point reacts to the Fort Hood tragedy. Before an interview on KRDO News Radio he says, "it's shocking certainly nothing you would ever think would occur."
The Lieutenant Colonel and a couple of cadets were in our studio to talk about Saturday's game against their chief rival the Air Force Academy. While it's a time to support the football players, it is a time to remember those who lost their lives in the Fort Hood tragedy Tribus says, "to see the folks that were effected, to lose our own, to understand or to think about the grief of families and loved ones that are effected by this it weighs heavy on everyone's hearts."
Tribus says while the tragedy weighs heavily on everyone's heart, he's inspired by the cadets "they're tough, and they're smart, very smart, very driven they don't need protection but they do need some coaching and mentoring to help them along the way."
Lieutenant Colonel Tribus says he'll attend a pep rally tonight to prepare for Saturday's game. The rally will be held at Fort Carson.
