PUEBLO - The Pueblo City-County Health Department is holding a H1N1 vaccine clinic at Craver Middle School, 4850 Crow Cut Off Road, in Colorado City Sunday, November 22, 1:00pm-4:00pm. This clinic follows the November, 21 clinic at Pueblo County High School.
"Even if you have experienced flu like symptoms or been diagnosed with the H1N1 flu, It is important to still get a H1N1 vaccine" stated Dr. Christine Nevin-Woods, public health director at the Pueblo City-County Health Department. "There are many illnesses circulating and to make sure you have immunity to the H1N1 virus it is recommended to get the vaccine when it is available for you."

§ Wednesday, November 18, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Pueblo City-County Health Department, 101 West 9th St., Pueblo, CO 81003
§ Saturday, November 21, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Pueblo County High School, 1050 35th Lane, Pueblo, CO 81006
§ Sunday, November 22, 1:00-4:00pm Colorado City, 4850 Crow Cut Off Road, Colorado City, CO 81019
"All of the health department's mass vaccination clinics are free and open to any resident of Pueblo County as long as they fall into one of the priority groups," explained Dr. Nevin-Woods. She added, "This clinic is placed in the mountain area of Pueblo County to serve the residents living west and south of the City of Pueblo."
The vaccine will be provided free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis to the following high risk priority groups until the vaccines supplies are depleted:
Priority Groups:
o Pregnant women
o Household contacts or caregivers for infants less than 6 months old
o All people 6 months to 24 years old
o All people 25-64 years old with chronic illness
o Law enforcement & fire personnel
o All health care workers
o Teachers and school personnel
Note: Those arriving ill or showing signs of illness will not be vaccinated and will be asked to leave. Parents are asked to leave sick children home with adult supervision and attend with well children only. All minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Several doctor's offices have received the H1N1 flu vaccine and are contacting their high risk patients to schedule vaccinations. WIC clients can also
receive the vaccine during their regular appointments. At this time vaccine is also available at the Walgreens pharmacy located in Pueblo West for $18.
Please plan ahead before you attend. Dress appropriately for the weather. Plan for the likelihood that you will need to stand in line. Adults and children should wear loose-fitting clothing that allows for arms (legs for children) to be exposed briefly for the H1N1 shot.
