New Ethanol Plant in Colorado

Updated:

LAMAR (AP) - Colorado is getting a new ethanol plant as businesses seek to take advantage of increased demand with gasoline prices setting records.

The Pueblo Chief said ground was broken Saturday in Lamar for the LiquidMaize Ethanol Production Plant. The facility will cost $24 million. It will be built on 8 acres of land just north of Lamar on Colorado 196.

Governor Bill Ritter, who attended, said the addition of another ethanol plant is a sign of how the nation will be making changes in where it gets it energy from.
