COLORADO SPRINGS - More jobs are cut in Colorado Springs Monday. It's happening at Plasmon Laser Magnetic Storage at 4425 Arrowswest Drive. The parking lot was empty during the workday Monday.
A human resources representative for the company says Plasmon is in the middle of a, "work force reduction." He says the company has been in the process of restructuring for about two months. An employee called NEWSCHANNEL 13 Monday morning, saying 90 to 100 people were laid off.
Calls to confirm those numbers with Plasmon have not been returned. According to the Colorado Springs Business Journal, Plasmon moved its manufacturing operations to the Colorado Springs facility from Minneapolis back in 2002.
The company designs and manufactures high-end removable data storage like rewritable CDs and DVDs. The company representative says Plasmon is not closing its doors in Colorado Springs. NEWSCHANNEL 13 will continue to track the developments on this story.
