COLORADO SPRINGS - Road conditions in southern Colorado late Thursday night are icy and snow packed. The Colorado Department of Transportation has plows on I-25 and Highway 24. El Paso County has 3 plows until 2 a.m. Friday and then will have more than 40 throughout the morning. Colorado Springs has four plows on the roads Thursday night and will double that through the morning.
Multiple accidents Thursday night are weather related. I-25 is slick and caused a number of spinouts in both directions through Colorado Springs. Around 8:00 p.m., traffic was at a crawl near I-25 and Interquest Parkway because of a car in the median and another off the shoulder. By 10:00 p.m. there was little traffic.
Late Thursday night, Monument Hill was slick, but showed little problems. Northbound I-25 was probably a little more busy than normal for a late Thursday night because the Outlets at Castle Rock opened at 11 p.m.
