Multimedia Journalist /Target 13 Investigator
I joined KRDO NewsChannel 13's team in November 2012. I report for KRDO NewsChannel 13 at 10. I grew up in Minnesota but I've always had my sights set on Colorado -- I'm thrilled to finally call this place home.
Before joining KRDO, I worked for NBC’s Nightly News with Brian Williams. I traveled with the Nightly News team to London for the 2012 Olympic Games. After the games, I joined NBC's Decision 2012 team and helped with its coverage of the Republican National Convention, the Democratic National Convention and the presidential debate in Denver. I began my broadcasting career at NBC-affiliate KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri where I worked as a general assignment reporter, fill-in anchor and web editor. During that time, I also worked at Newsy.com where I researched, wrote and anchored analysis pieces on news events for the web and a variety of mobile platforms.
I’m a proud Mizzou Tiger, graduating with honors from the University of Missouri with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish. I grew up in Minneapolis (Edina), Minnesota. I haven't escaped the snow, but I enjoy the much milder winters here, especially when I'm reporting in the field!
During my time as a journalist, I've had the opportunity to meet inspiring people and tell stories of courage and hope. During my time with NewsChannel 13, I've covered the Black Forest Fire and post-fire flooding -- the strength and resiliency shown in wake of such tragedies makes me proud to be part of this community. My career in journalism has taken me all over the world from London for the Olympics to Tampa for the Republican National Convention to Joplin, Missouri for the deadly tornado in May 2011.
During my time off air, I enjoy yoga, volunteering, hiking and skiing. I miss my Minnesota lakes but swapping out water skiing for snow skiing isn't a bad trade!
