I discovered my passion for journalism when I was in high school and still remember sitting in my broadcast journalism class anxious to get my first story assignment. A lot has changed since then, but my love for news isn't one of them. Now I will be the Pueblo bureau reporter for NEWSCHANNEL 13 during the week and anchoring NOTIALERTAS Telemundo on the weekends.

I was raised in Houston, Texas and have spent my entire life in the south until now. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. While at Sam Houston I helped establish a Spanish newscast for Hispanic viewers in the Huntsville area. I spent countless hours in the KSHU newsroom producing, reporting and anchoring in Spanish. I was also fortunate enough to spend a summer in Panama City, Panama, where my mother is from, working for TVN Noticias.

Before coming to Colorado I was a reporter for WDHN in Dothan, Alabama. While at Dothan, I reported on the deadliest shooting rampage in Alabama history. One of the first reporters on scene, with no time to waste and a looming deadline, I had to gather information, get video, and conduct interviews. I, a one-man band reporter, managed to do it all. By night’s end, my video and interviews aired on Nightline and Anderson Cooper 360. By week’s end, my footage aired on many national news outlets including Good Morning America and The 700 Club.

While I consider myself a southern gal, I'm looking forward to the living in a place surrounded by beautiful mountains and a weather forecast that doesn't include humidity!
