c.loveless@krdo.comI was born at the old St. Francis Hospital in Downtown Colorado Springs, and grew up in Security. I graduated from Widefield High School in 2002.
I began my career in news in the fall of 2001. I was 17 when I started as an intern at NEWSCHANNEL 13. In August of 2002, I was hired as the weekend videotape editor. Then, 2 years later, I decided to give photojournalism a shot. I still maintain that photojournalists are the unsung heroes of tv news. They do all the heavy lifting.
In 2005, I moved to the weekday evening videotape editor position, editing the 5:00, 6:00, and 10:00 p.m. newscasts Monday through Friday. I'll always cherish my time in the edit bay. I had a great time doing the job, and it was there that I learned many of the skills I needed to take the next step in my career.
In July of 2007, I was promoted to Associate Producer and quickly worked my way up to Producer. Currently I produce NEWSCHANNEL 13 at 10 Sunday through Thursday.
The most challenging part of the job is finding the time to keep the web site updated with fresh news, while giving the newscast the attention it needs. Especially when there is breaking news. Facebook and Twitter have changed everything, which I think is great! We can post information and images instantly from the newsroom or in the field, and get information and feedback from viewers and emergency officials in just seconds.
