Weekday GMC/Noon Meteorologist
Prior to being hired here at NEWSCHANNEL 13, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. I spent some time working at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) as both a Student Assistant and Associate Scientist in NCAR's Mesoscale Microscale Meteorology Division. While it was a great place to work, it just wasn't enough "weather" for me. My first television job was actually at our sister station KMGH in Denver. I worked both on-air and behind the scenes part-time.
I've been a Meteorologist here at NEWSCHANNEL 13 since August of 1999 and I currently anchor our STORMTRACKER 13 weather segments during Good Morning Colorado from 5:00 to 7:00 a.m. weekday mornings. The American Meteorological Society recognizes me as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and I'm proud to be a part of that relatively small group of Meteorologists in broadcasting. I've been here for many significant weather events over the years. Some that I have covered on-air include the Ellicott tornado on Memorial Day in 2001, the extreme drought during the summer of 2002, the near record summer rain and associated flash flooding that occurred during the summer of 2006, the 4.4 magnitude earthquake near Trinidad in January of 2007 and so many blizzards that I'm starting to lose track of when they even occurred! Of course there have been many more events over the years and at this point, I think I've seen just about everything Mother Nature has to offer. Using my experiences, I look forward to providing you with the most accurate, useful weather forecasts each weekday morning on NEWSCHANNEL 13 for many years to come.
I live in Monument (a.k.a. blizzard central), am married, have 3 children and spend most of my free time just trying to maintain my house and raise my kids. Feel free to e-mail me at M.Venticinque@krdotv.com anytime you have questions or comments.
