COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado Springs will be getting its first Immigration and Customs Enforcement office soon.

Colorado Republican Congressman Doug Lamborn announced Thursday that the office will open Nov. 30.

Lamborn had been pushing to have an ICE sub-office in Colorado Springs for two years. The congressman argued the office is important to Colorado Springs because it's the second largest city in within ICE's Denver-area jurisdiction.

Lamborn has said it's important to monitor immigration activity in Colorado Springs as the city continues to grow.
