COLORADO SPRINGS - The Colorado Department of Transportation and Designated Driver of Colorado Springs are both going to help Coloradans plan ahead for a sober ride home this Thanksgiving weekend.
CDOT's www.PlanAheadColorado.com is their key to making this possible. On the site, you can find a list of nearly 40 bars and restaurants in the program.
Partygoers and get a free sober ride home in their own car. You can also opt to pick a hotel linked on the website, or find overnight parking where you can leave your car overnight, without ending with a parking ticket or a tow.
The website offers a special "Plan Ahead" rate for the hotels listed on the site.
CDOT is launching the website for the Springs as DUI enforcement gears up across the state.
Last year seven people were killed in alcohol-related crashes in the state over the Thanksgiving holiday.
