PUEBLO, Colo. - Chile roasting in Pueblo County is in full swing.
The aroma of green chiles has taken over farms all over the county.
We checked in with one local farmer to find out if the recent rain is impacting the chiles.
“The rain did not help. It is affecting some of the crops. The high moisture content creates disease and a lot of our plants are dying, but as long as we can get a little breeze and some sunlight we'll be fine,” said Shane Milberger with Milberger Farms.
Milberger says not to worry, there will be an abundance of chiles for people to enjoy.
The Chile and Frijoles Festival is set for September 22 through the 24.
