COLORADO SPRINGS - A national organization that advocates for the separation of church and state is launching a billboard campaign, and one of the locations is in Colorado Springs.
American Atheists says the primary message of the campaign is to encourage people to be honest about what they believe and to start the conversation about what they think is really important during the holidays: spending time with family and caring for friends, family and loved ones.
"We want to reach out to non-believers who maybe feel just a little uncomfortable about being open about it, especially this time of year. And we want to remind them that they are more than welcome to celebrate Christmas just like anyone else. There is no monopoly on Christmas, it's everyone's holiday," said Randy Gotovich with American Atheists.
This is the 2nd year in a row the billboard has been on display in Colorado Springs.
You can find the billboard going northbound on I-25 near the B Street bridge.
