My name's Nick Rothschild and I joined the KRDO NewsChannel 13 team in October 2015 as the weekend sports anchor and sports reporter.
First off, I'm proud to be a Colorado native. I grew up in Louisville and graduated from Monarch High School before attending the journalism school at the University of Colorado in Boulder. CU gave me the chance to live in Washington D.C. and London while working towards my degree in Broadcast News. London was amazing, I hope to someday move back to England (and yes, I love soccer).
I graduated college in 2012 and shortly after landed my first media job with KKCO 11 News in Grand Junction. Over two and a half years I learned every aspect of the local TV game - anchoring, reporting, even weather forecasting. Media types say you never forget your first station, they're not wrong. My time on the Western Slope was made special by people I met and friends I made - the memories I'll never forget.
When it was time to move on and continue my career, Colorado Springs welcomed me in with open arms. I can't imagine living/working/growing in any other state, and I'm truly grateful for the chance to explore a new section of my breathtaking home.
Most of my life revolves around sports or athletics, so even if I'm not at work I'm usually watching a game, playing golf, or trying to stay in shape at the gym or on a trail somewhere. I also watch entirely too much TV, play copious amounts of video games, and love cats.
