It’s a new malicious software virus infecting computers. It starts as a warning message to update your anti-virus software, but it’s a rogue program aimed at stealing your bank account information and freezing your computer system.

It’s known as Antivir Solution Pro; it’s a fake antispyware program that pretends to scan your computer for viruses but may actually steal personal information instead.

Kate Singh said she was surfing online when her computer just froze up. “I couldn’t do anything except see this purchase screen,” said Singh. It asked her to purchase new anti-virus software to correct the problem.

Singh purchased it, thinking she was her renewing her Norton Anti-Virus software. "It had the Windows logo and it has the Microsoft Logo too, and they looked legit,” said Singh.

Once she purchased the program a new message popped up on her computer screen. “It said, you should get a confirmation number by e-mail, but you might not because we get so many e-mails,” said Singh.

She said she called her bank and found the company took out $200 from her checking account.

How to remove the Antivir Solution Pro virus

You will need to download iExplore.exe on another computer (iExplore is a great tool developed by Lawrence Abrams from bleepingcomputer.com.
