Three bears broke into a Colorado Springs home Thursday morning giving a cleaning woman the scare of her life.

She was cleaning inside the home on Sanford Road, near the Broadmoor Hotel. She ran into a bedroom when she saw two cubs break-in. The mom came in a short time later.

The homeowner waited outside in her car for police to arrive.

The Division of Wildlife and Colorado Springs Police handled the situation and was able to get the housekeeper out safely. However, NEWSCHANNEL 13's Jaclyn Rostie reported the housekeeper were able to see the bears "tearing apart" the kitchen.

Wildlife officers were able to get the bears out of the home, but the bears ran up a tree. After about an hour, wildlife officers tranquilized the bears. They will be put down.

The Division of Wildlife said bears become more brazen this time of year because the animal is in "binge eating" mode.
