COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colorado Springs police are searching for a man who robbed the Key Bank at 3085 South Academy Boulevard Friday morning.Witnesses said the man walked in waving a gun and demanded money. He cocked his gun and demanded more cash before getting away on a bicycle.Two of the witnesses who were inside the bank followed the robber. They said he threw out his bicycle at the Colony Hills Apartments just a few blocks south of the bank.One of the witnesses said he saw the robber get into an early 1990s model gold Chevrolet Caprice. That car fled the scene before police arrived.Sierra High School was locked down for about an hour while police searched for the man.Police described the man as black and in his 20s. He's about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt.If you have any information that could help police, call 444-7000.
