COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A miracle baby is celebrating his first birthday.

Coltyn Hermanstorfer was born on Christmas Eve in 2009. He and his mom, Tracey, died during birth. Doctors were able to bring both of them back to life.

"You can't really explain how everything affects your life when something like that goes down its astronomical," said Mike Hermanstorfer.

A year later, mom and Coltyn are alive and well.

"He's doing really good, he's right on the ball," said Tracey.

It's still a mystery as to why Tracey had a heart attack that night. After months of testing, doctors still don't know what caused her to die or if it will happen again.

"No answers been found about anything, anywhere. She's healthier than us," said Mike.

In the meantime, the Hermanstorfers focus their attention on Coltyn, their miracle baby.

"There's times I'm going wow, I could have missed this."
