3 wrecks cause significant backup on I-25 in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UPDATE 5 p.m.: All lanes were reopened after three wrecks on Interstate 25 Thursday afternoon in Colorado Springs.

Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs is dealing with significant backups in both directions Thursday due to several accidents near Fillmore Street.

A rollover wreck has caused traffic to come to a crawl as many lanes are blocked. Northbound I-25 was backed up all the way near the Bijou Street exit. Southbound I-25 was backed up near Rockrimmon Blvd.

Colorado Springs police say the backup is caused by a two-vehicle crash in the southbound lane, a four-vehicle crash in the southbound lane, and a motorcycle crash in the northbound lane.

No word was given on injuries.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
