COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Representative Gabby Giffords emotional resignation in Congress on Wednesday has touched so many across the nation and here in Southern Colorado.Ed Bloxom is a traumatic brain injury survivor, much like Giffords. He told me she is an inspiration to those fighting back to get back to work and life before what happened to cause the injury. Bloxom fell down a flight of stairs and hit his head on a steel door. It destroyed the door. He was in a coma five weeks after the accident.Rocky Mountain Health Care Services helped Bloxom post-accident with rehab and helping him to get to where he is today. Bloxom says Giffords is an inspiration to him and other T.B.I. survivors. Giffords says she wants to one day be back in Congress to represent her beloved Tucson. Bloxom believe she'll make it happen after more rehab and care. Before his accident, Ed was an education administrator. Now, he hopes to become a teacher. His can-do spirit and positive attitude will go a long way to make it happen.
