Acacia Park Crime Fears
Police Take A Bite Out Of Crime
A recent drug bust in Acacia Park is highlighting a problem that Colorado Springs Police are trying to keep a handle on for you and nearby business owners.
A successful partnership is brewing to stop downtown crime. Nearby business owners may not be seeing it yet, but the recent bust is proof of it. Some business owners tipped off police to the suspected drug activity in the park.
Springs Police have more officers on the Tejon corridor street beat. Two officers work 8 in the morning till 6 in the evening, Tuesday through Friday. Those officers were on red light street cam duty until late last year. The pair was reviewing tickets until the red light cameras were taken offline. They have been on this duty since the Christmas holiday and until further notice.
A night team of officers works Wednesday through Saturday, 6 p.m. to 4 in the morning.
