COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Power was out for a time Friday morning across a portion of the Arkansas Valley.

Black Hills Energy says transmission from another utility went out affecting 6800 black Hills customers in the lower Arkansas Valley, including the towns of Fowler, Rocky Ford La Junta and Ordway.

The power was out for about an hour, starting just before 9:00 a.m., according to Black Hills.

Since the cause of the outage did not originate with Black Hills the spokesperson did not have information on a cause.

Black Hills says there could have been other areas without power that Black Hills does not serve.
