Aspen Valley Alternative High School evacuated

COLLORADO SPRINGS, Colo -

Aspen Valley Alternative High School was evacuated Friday afternoon because of a chemical residue in a science lab.

Some kind of chemical was in a science lab at the school.

Students were moved to another building nearby. The principal tells KRDO NewsChannel13 and KRDO.com that there was no real danger but the evacuation was taken as a precaution.

It is not yet known what the chemical was.

Students were allowed back inside the school around 1:00 PM.
