CO may restrict concealed weapons on campuses
Colorado is one of the few states where concealed weapons can be carried on college campuses.
A bill up for debate Wednesday would change that.
The bill pending in a Democratic House committee would repeal the right to carry concealed weapons on public college campuses or in stadiums. The campus gun bill comes a day after the same committee approved ammunition limits and expanded background checks for gun purchasers.
The gun control measures are Democratic proposals in the wake of mass shootings at a suburban Denver movie theater and an elementary school in Connecticut.
Democrats are also expected to propose a measure seeking to hold gun manufacturers liable for damage caused by their products. That liability measure would conflict with federal law.
