Suspect, Vehicle Found Tuesday, Police Say
Colorado Springs police have arrested a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run accident that took the life of a 14-year-old boy.
The accident happened last Thursday at the intersection of Airport Road and South Circle Drive.
Late Tuesday, officers arrested David Allen Henley, Jr., 38, on a charge of an "Accident Involving Death", a Class 3 Felony punishable by up to 16 years in prison.
Police also impounded a custom truck matching the primered gray vehicle described by witnesses.
The victim, Ricardo "Ricky" Figueroa, was running home when he tripped in the road near the A Tire & Wheels shop. Witnesses said he was struck violently by the truck, which kept going without stopping.
Figueroa was an 8th-grader preparing to graduate from Galileo School of Math and Science. He was looking forward to starting at Wasson High School in the fall.
