Investigators are asking for any information the public might have about a car idling in Tom Clement's neighborhood around the time of the murder.

The executive director of Colorado's Department of Corrections was shot and killed at his home in El Paso County on Tuesday night. He answered the door around 8:30 p.m. when he was shot and killed.

A witness spotted a car idling at the intersection of Scarsbrook Court and Colonial Park Drive, about 100 yards from Clements' house, around the time of the murder.

The witness described the car as a boxy car, possibly a Cadillac or a Lincoln, from the 1990's.  It was black or dark-colored with two doors.

After the shooting, the car was seen heading west of Higby Road.  The car was also spotted traveling south on Jackson Creek Parkway.  A Shell station on that road said it was against corporate policy to speak with the media but an employee did confirm law enforcement had asked questioned about the car.
