COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

El Paso County has already received 50,000 mail-in ballots from area voters and election officials has started the process of checking the signatures and will soon start counting them.

To check the status of a mail-in ballot a voter can go to https://www.sos.state.co.us/voter-classic/secuVoterSearch.do.

If the status of your ballot is wrong, the El Paso County Clerk Wayne Williams advises to wait a few days to check again, vote early, or vote on election day using a provisional ballot.

The county said it has a system in place to ensure your vote will only count once.
