DENVER, Colo. -

Police in Denver are looking for clues in the murder of a Fort Carson soldier.

The victim has been identified as SGT Anthony Silva. He was shot multiple times early Saturday, outside a Motel 6 on Paris Street.

Police say prior to the shooting, Silva may have been walking his dog near the hotel. One witness says there was a scuffle in the street involving several men.

Adding to the tragedy was the fact that Silva had just completed his service in the Army, and was just days away from reuniting with family in Illinois.

Denver police are asking for anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867.
