El Paso county opposing Obama gun orders
POSTED: 06:27 AM MST Jan 24, 2013
El Paso county commissioners are sending a letter to President Barack Obama opposing attempts by the federal government to restrict gun rights.
The resolution, which has no legal impact, challenges Obama's 23 executive orders designed to crack down on gun violence. The resolution passed unanimously on Tuesday.
On Monday, Weld County commissioners will discuss a similar resolution. Meanwhile, sheriffs in El Paso, Garfield, Larimer and Weld counties have announced their opposition to new gun restrictions.
