Ex-Marine takes post at Firestone charter school

FIRESTONE, Colo. -

A former Marine is standing guard at a charter school in Firestone in the wake of the school shootings in Connecticut.

Jared Vejrostek is uniform, but he is not carrying a weapon. He believes his presence is enough to deter any violence at the Imagine Charter School, where two of his daughters are attending classes.

Vejrostek got the idea from another Marine who decided to take a turn at guard duty in Nashville, Tenn.
