Former Ellicott board member sentenced for sex assault
Avoids prison time, 10 years to life on parole
Former Ellicott School board member, Stefanie Dickinson, was sentenced Wednesday to ten years to life on sex offender intensive supervised parole.
Dickinson pleaded guilty in June to sexual assault on a child. As part of her plea agreement, she will avoid prison time. Charges of sexting a minor were also dropped.
Dickinson had been living in Texas prior to her sentencing. A judge ruled Wednesday that she must begin her parole as a resident of Colorado before she can transfer to Texas. The judge also ruled that Dickinson cannot have contact with any children under the age of 18 except for her children.
Dickinson, a former treasurer for the Ellicott School Board, was convicted of sexually assaulting a child. She resigned from her position after her first arrest in September 2011.
An arrest document stated that Dickinson told the victim that sex with her husband was dull and she wanted attention from other men. The victim said he trusted Dickinson, considered her a guardian and felt that she took advantage of him.
