A Salida man trying to help a motorist was assaulted.

The man was driving north on State Highway 115 at mile marker 23 at 1:00 pm on Tuesday when he saw a female standing next to a car  that was pulled into a gravel turn-around area on the west side of the highway. Seeing that the rear of the car was jacked up and appeared to have a flat tire, he pulled in to offer assistance and was in the process of removing the flat tire when he was struck in the head and knocked unconscious for several minutes. When he came to, he was missing a large amount of cash from his wallet and the female and white car were gone.

The white car was described as a 90's sedan, with black steel wheels and no hub caps, possibly a Buick LeSabre. The female suspect is described as a white female, early 20's, 5'9", shoulder length brown hair, wearing a floral print sun dress.
