Highway 50 back open at Highway 71 in Rocky Ford

Highway 50 has re-opened at highway 71 in Rocky Ford after a traffic accident.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says Highway 50 is closed in Rocky Ford at Highway 71.

The Colorado State Patrol NOW says six  people have been hurt, including four children and two adults. There is no word on the seriousness of their injuries at this time.

Troopers say a GMC passenger van driven by a 16-year-old boy collided with a 1981 pick up truck driven by a 53-year old man.

It's not yet known which vehicle or vehicles the children were in.
