Looking for Kara: Investigators Need Your Help
El Paso County Deputies revealed details in the case of a missing 19 year old Kara Nichols.
Officials said they needed community help during a press conference last week. Ever since that press conference investigators have been receiving information on the case.
"Some tips as you can imagine, run out, if you will, pretty quick. They follow a very short distance before it reaches its own dead end. While others continue to open up even additional tips. And that has kept our investigators busy ever since the press conference last week," said Lt. Jeff Kramer, a spokesperson of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
Nichols has been missing since October 9th, and deputies said the case is suspicious. Her roommate told investigators Kara was planning to travel to Denver the night she disappeared, but she left her purse, wallet, and cash in her apartment.
The Sheriff's Office said it was attempting to identify two brunette women who were seen with Kara before she disappeared. Kramer said investigators believe they may have identified one of the women, but could not go into details.
Paul Nichols, Kara's father, was at a Sheriff's Office press conference and spoke to local media last week.
"People would think this doesn't happen to me, but the truth of the matter is that it can. It can," said Paul Nichols.
Kara was last seen with two brunette women. Neither of them have been identified. Investigators said they are not suspects, but that they do need them to come forward so they can be questioned.
Sheriff Terry Maketa said during the Tuesday press conference that they need people to call in with any information they may have on the case.
"We all know that somebody out there knows something. They always do. All we are asking is, tell us where we can find her or contact us with what happened," said Maketa.
If anyone has information on the case they can call the Sheriff's Office at 719-390-5555 or send an e-mail to email@example.com
