COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

A Colorado Springs man was airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries after an early morning motorcycle crash.

The 52-year-old man crashed on southbound I-25 near N. Academy Blvd. around 4:30 Sunday morning. Troopers say the rider lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. The man was wearing a helmet.

Troopers say a second car then came through the crash area and struck the man on the legs. The car did not stop. Troopers believe the driver may have thought the car only hit debris from the motorcycle crash.

Colorado State Patrol asks that any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the crash, or the driver of the second car, contact them at (719) 544-2424.
