A man is in the hospital after being shot.

Colorado Springs police were called to the Crown Plaza hotel only to find the victim already gone. They roped off a large area behind the hotel and started looking for evidence.

Police say that the man was shot in the leg, and that the wounds do not appear to be life threatening.

"I don't think  anybody is in danger at the hotel and at this point we don't see an immediate tie to the hotel or any employees or guests of the hotel," said Sgt. Pamela Castro with CSPD.

Castro said the victim was not a guest at the hotel and they aren't sure what he was doing there.

The suspect is on the loose. Police said they don't have any description yet to release to the public.
