Man who admitted killing 14 year old girl in Commerce City now on immigration hold
The man who turned himself in for the death of a 14-year-old girl is on an immigration hold, according to the Adams County Jail website.
The man was identified by Commerce City Police as Esequiel Padilla-Villalobos, 24.
Shortly before midnight Sunday, police said Padilla-Villalobos called 911 and told dispatchers he wanted to turn himself in for having just killed someone.
Officer Chris Dickey said Padilla-Villalobos provided officers with the location of 14-year-old girl's body, which was found in the 8600 block of Verbena Street.
Dickey said the cause of death hasn't been determined yet, but Padilla-Villalobos is being held on suspicion of first degree murder.
Although the victim was tentatively identified, Dickey did not reveal her name because notification of her family is still pending. He did say, however, that it appears Padilla-Villalobos may have known the victim.
