Police imposters are making life difficult for the real men and women in blue.
A fake cop was roaming the streets last week in the East side of Pueblo.
"I never heard of a fake cop in town, in Pueblo anyway," said Eddie Vigil.
KRDO NewsChannel 13 broke the news to Vigil. Two men pretending to be police officers were in his neighborhood.
"It bothers me. Especially with little kids around," said Vigil.
Pueblo police said two men pulled up to a woman walking on Amarillo Avenue. They told her to get on the ground and put her hands behind her back. After laughing at the woman, they drove off.
"It is certainly frighting to be victimized by that," said Sgt. Eric Bravo with the Pueblo Police Department.
Police said the suspects were in plain clothes, but were driving a Ford Crown Victoria, similar to a police car. It even had red and blue lights.
Police told KRDO NewsChannel 13, they are looking for a white Ford with a license plate, 261-WOU.
"Anytime someone impersonates a police officer it a dangerous situation," said Bravo.
If you have any information in this case, call police at 553-2538.
The two men could be charged with impersonating a police officer.
Police said to always ask police for identification and to pull over where there are lots of people around.
