(CNN) -

The Republican National Committee targeted President Barack Obama in a new web video Wednesday, hitting the president over Hispanic jobless rates just days after the Obama administration announced a new ruling on immigration.

The one-minute web video points to the 11% unemployment rate for Hispanics and Latinos -- according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics -- and accuses the president of failing to aid the growing community.

"While Obama plays politics, Hispanics are suffering in the Obama economy," the video states.

The video attempts to blunt Democratic efforts in courting the Latino vote, especially after Obama announced a new rule ending the deportation of certain young illegal immigrants who seek higher education paths or serve in the United States military.

Despite heavy Republican opposition to the administration's directive, a new poll released Tuesday indicated a majority of voters -- 64% -- supported the president's decision.

Republicans, however, signal they'll try to keep the focus on the economy, rather than immigration, when reaching out to Latino voters.

"After four years of President Obama, our economy isn't better," the RNC video says.
