COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

A shots fired call early Wednesday morning leads to an illegal firearms arrest.

Colorado Springs police tell KRDO Newschannel 13 they received a call about gunshots in the 700 block of Bonfoy Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday.  The caller also reported a man and a woman arguing in area. When officers arrived, then found a car with damage from gun fire but the man and woman were gone.

After an extensive investigation, officers discovered the identity of the man and woman involved. The couple was staying at the Drury Inn on Academy Boulevard.

The male, identified as 28-year-old Chandler Stanley had 4 outstanding felony warrants and a domestic violence charge stemming from the shots fired call.

Officers arrested Stanley at the Drury Inn and found him in possession of a firearm.
