Soldier guilty of child abuse resulting in death

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo -

A Fort Carson soldier has been found guilty of child abuse resulting in death.

An El Paso County Jury found Roderick  Elam Jr. guilty on Thursday of killing his 2-moth old daughter back in December of 2011.

Court documents  indicated the coroner reported the girl suffered hits to her head and body.

Elam was assigned to the 4th Brigade Combat Team.

Elam faces between 16 and 48 years in prison when he is sentenced in March.
