COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

The original steakburger is headed to Colorado Springs, according to Steak 'N Shake's website. It would be the first store in southern Colorado.

There was no date for when the store could open or where it could be located.

Another store is set to open in Centennial, just outside of Denver, later this year, the website said.

Steak 'N Shake might best be known for its famous hamburger and ultra thin french fries. The restaurant chain with the 50s flair is popular in much of the U.S., but does not have any restaurants in Colorado.

There are nearly 500 Steak 'n Shake restaurants in 23 states, according to the company's website.
