Suspect In Deadly Hit & Run Facing Child Porn Charges
Police: Pornographic Images Found On Computer After February Traffic Stop
The suspect in the hit and run accident that killed 14 year old Ricky Figuera on May 3rd was arrested in February on child pornography charges.
According to Pikes Peak Community College Police Chief Ken Hilte, the investigation started when some students noticed the suspect, David Henley, looking at pornographic images in class.
PPCC Police launched an investigation, and arrested Henley following a traffic stop on campus. Chief Hilte says Henley ran a stop sign. He was arrested for being a habitual traffic offender.
While Henley was in jail on the traffic charges, PPCC Police obtained a warrant to search a computer found in Henley's car. Chief Hilte says pornographic images were found on Henley's computer, leading to new charges.
Henley remains in jail. Court database records show he is charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Child in connection to the pornography case.
He is also facing charges in connection to Figueroa's death.
