Pueblo police are investigating after a toddler was hit and killed Tuesday.  The girl has been identified as 23-month-old Raylissa DeHerrera.

Police said DeHerrera was killed at 5th Street and Troy just before 4 p.m.

Witnesses say the toddler was drying off on a towel after taking a dip in a wading pool when she was hit by an SUV driven by her uncle.

Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.

According to Police, the uncle rushed the girl to Parkview Medical Center, hitting another car on the way, but the girl had likely died instantly.

The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney's office upon completion.
