Colorado Springs police are investigating a stabbing south of downtown.

Officers say it happened around 9:30 Saturday night in the 200 block of S. Sierra Madre.

Police say the victim, Gene Mathieu, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he was treated and released.

Dwayne Banks, 44, was taken into police custody.
