UPDATE: Rescuers with El Paso County confirm that a woman died Tuesday afternoon, after suffering a heart attack on the Manitou Incline.

The coroner was called to the scene about 7:00 p.m. after CPR efforts proved unsuccessful.

The woman, who witnesses tell us was in her 30s, collapsed about one third of the way up the popular hiking trail.

About a dozen rescue and medical personnel made the hike to tend to the victim.

The Incline was closed to other hikers during the rescue attempt.
